Baby Bump Week 33

Caleb continues to grow every day at this point, literally. I wake up and my stomach has grown. Every day, my body is looking different and changing. Just a few days ago, I was at work and one of my student's said: "Mrs. Morris, your stomach grew overnight!" So funny, and so true! I'm thankful to see that Caleb is getting stronger and that God is answering my morning prayers to put the fat that he needs on his little body.
I also had the joy this week of having swelling feet and ankles for the first time. It's amazing how your body does become a machine and it is working to sustain the baby you are carrying in your womb. Everything it does is for the baby! It's a beautiful testimony of how the Lord creates and sustains life. The same way that Caleb needs me to be molded and formed, is the same way that I need the Lord every minute of every day to be molded and formed to be more like Him.
This week, we took the baby bump pictures in Caleb's Room. You can see that his crib footboard came in, so we now we have his crib together. Today, we bought the mattress so Mom will start working on the bumper pad and dust ruffle this week. How exciting! She will do a lovely job as always!
These pictures were taken yesterday on our way to our first Baby Shower for Caleb - a Couple's Shower given to us by some of our very dear friends!

Snow Day

February 12, 2010
Friday, it started snowing around 1 pm and snowed for about 8 hours. We got 4 inches here in Buford... a lot of snow for us in the South. Here are some pics...

Blake acting like he was gonna throw a snow ball at me...
Sure enough, when I went back inside, he came in behind me and hit me with the snowball anyways.

Pictures of Caleb

CALEB JAMES MORRIS

February 12, 2010
Today, we had a 3D Ultrasound of Caleb. Both of our moms were able to come, and it was a very neat time to be able to get a glimpse of our little boy. We had a 30 minute ultrasound of seeing Caleb and got lots of pictures. As I suspected he might be, he was a stubborn little stinker and didn't want to move his right arm away from his face. He kept that hand above his right eye most all the time. But, with the sonographer pushing on my belly a ton, we were able to get some shots of his face. In the one above, I giggled because for this shot, he decided to move the arm to the left side instead of the right, but kept his hand up there nonetheless. In this picture, you can see both arms if you look close enough.

I just thought this one was precious.... doesn't he look so peaceful???
His little cheekies look so kissable and I love his little nose and chin.

This one is a little scary looking, but I loved the shot of his precious smile. You can't really tell in the picture too well, but he still has that arm up there... he had just moved it for a second. The thing on the far right is my placenta.

Look at the sweet cheekies here....
We also found out that Caleb doesn't really have any hair. He has just a little bit on the lower back part of his head, but none on top. Maybe he'll be a "baldie" like his mommy and daddy were.

I thought this one was so sweet because we could see most of his face. The weird looking spiral thing on the bottom left is his arm. The way the shot was taken, it's not showing it all. And on the bottom right is his left arm. He loves having those arms around his face. I wonder if he does that a lot in the womb? Maybe, he will have praying hands like his friend, Brooklyn Knight.

And here is none other than his...
MALE PARTS!!!
Poor Caleb... I know that he wouldn't appreciate this, but I was amazed at the detail. We were all laughing when we saw this in the ultrasound room. Amazing that a 3D ultrasound can show you perfectly his stuff (we can call it that =)!!!

So, who does our little Caleb look like?

Mommy???

Or...

Daddy???

We have not a clue... All we know is that we have been blessed with Caleb James and he is our perfect gift from above. He is the beautiful creation of Our Father and we can't wait to see His handiwork when Caleb makes his arrival.

Lord, please continue to make Caleb strong and healthy... physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. We ask that his body be 100 % perfection without blemish, fearfully and wonderfully made. May every part of his body function just as you designed it! Help his brain continue to develop all of those neurons and intricacies that will enable him to be an intelligent little boy. And may you be so gracious as to bless him with your wisdom in the years to come. Bless his heart, that it would be like David's - that he would have a heart after your own. Teach him to love You with all of his heart, soul, mind, and strength, and because of his love for You, may he obey you. Give him a teachable and moldable heart and show us how to train him to love you, obey you, and may we hide Your Word in his heart. May he have a gentle spirit, a good temperment, and may he love to laugh. Most importantly, Lord, we pray for Caleb's salvation - that at just the appointed time, he will accept You into his heart and embrace your gift of salvation. May he fully understand and believe that you died on the cross for him and rose from the dead that he might have eternal life with you.

Caleb's Birthday Candle Holders

Some months ago, I got a special gift in the mail from my sweet sister friend, Andria. Like the Christmas gifts, I am just now getting this precious gift on the blog. These are 6 silver plated bear birthday candle holders. What a unique present and a great idea!!!

These candle holders hold such special meaning because Andria bought these for Caleb years before he ever came to be. Years ago, she began praying that the Lord would open my womb and bless Blake and I with a child. As she was praying, she came across these one day in a store and said she just had to buy them. She has kept them for years, waiting until the day that her prayers would be answered, the day that God would bless us with a child.

What I love about these candle holders is that as we use them in the years to come, they will be a reminder that God is the giver of life. They will also be a reminder of my friend, Andria, and so many others, that have so faithfully prayed for me over the years.

These candle holders are such a special keepsake and I look forward to using them in the years to come. I can't wait to see little Caleb blow out his very first candles!!!
Thank you Andria!

Caleb's Christmas Gifts

Tonight, I read Caleb his first book, "Oh Baby the Places You'll Go". This was a gift from Kristie and it's a special book meant to be read to the baby while still in the womb. After reading this neat book, I went to put it up and came across some gifts that I received for Caleb at Christmas. Then, I realized I never put them on the blog... so they are a little late, but here they are.

Caleb's First Rattle - Future Star
Isn't this so cute???
Mom and Dad gave us this Christmas morning.
Daddy is very excited to introduce Caleb to football at an early age.

Look at these precious things!!!
The green frog was a gift from Susan, a wonderful teacher I work with. It is the cutest little toy - and of course it's educational. As Susan said, she's trying to get Caleb ready for the Gateway, hehe.
The Oshgosh outfit is from two of my former students, Miranda and Shemaine. They are sisters and are sweethearts! They dropped off this outfit for our little boy, along with some balloons, before Christmas Break.
The precious Nike outfit is from Paula, another dear teacher friend of mine. I just love it! A cute onesie with the matching hat and booties. I can't wait to see Caleb in this!

Caleb is so blessed to be loved by such amazing and generous people!!!

Caleb's Room

It is still a work in progress, but this is where we are now with Caleb's Room. This week, we finally decided on a paint color and painted Thursday and Friday (Thanks to my Dad, Uncle Ricky, Blake, and Drew for the wonderful help!) Yesterday and today, Dad, Drew, and Blake worked diligently to get the bead board up. It's almost complete. The only thing we have left to do now is paint the bead board and trim white. It still hasn't been painted at this point, just primed.

The paint color on the wall is showing up a little lighter in the pictures, and the color is actually a tad bit greener, but you can get the idea. Also, I propped the fabric up in the corner so you can see how pretty it looks up next to the wall color. It really brings out the blues in the fabric and makes the greens look really pretty.
You might be wondering why only the head board of the bed is in the room. Long story, but basically when we got the crib in, the footboard had a large scuff on it, so we are waiting for the new footboard to come in. Hopefully it will be here in the next week or so and we can put Caleb's crib together.

Here is Caleb's Room before we started the transformation process. Blake's weight equipment used to be here, but now......

...the weight equipment has a new home. It's in our sitting room!!! Thankfully, Blake agreed to adding some pretty, solid french doors so we can keep the weightroom closed off from our bedroom. Looking at weights from our bed is not something I wanted to do. =)

Here is the beautiful patchwork of paint on Caleb's walls before we decided on a paint color. Choosing a color was so very hard! We would think a color looked good on the swatch, then after we got it on the wall, the color looked completely different. After several trial size paints later, we decided on the color on the far right. It's called QUIETUDE! And how appropriate! We hope Caleb will live up to his wall color and be a quiet little angel =)

Mandy holding up the fabric... this is what we would do OVER AND OVER again as we were trying to see which color brought out the colors in the fabric the best. It's amazing how the wrong paint color can totally take away from the beauty of the fabric. Thank the Lord that we finally found the right color to bring out the blues that I love so much in the fabric.
Mandy was such a great help! I couldn't have done it without her and my Mom!
Drew painting the trim - how handsome!

My lovely husband, Blake, helping out too!

Baby Bump Week 29

This week, I thought I would do a front shot to show how Caleb is growing and making my baby bump rounder and rounder.
Also, my pretty turquoise shirt was a gift from my beautiful friend, Page.
