Caleb has teeth!

Teething... it seems that Caleb has been teething since he was 3 months old. And bless his little heart, his upper gums were swollen and red for weeks. We were beginning to think that his upper teeth would come in before his lower ones, but to our surprise, on Caleb's 8 month old birthday, his lower right tooth popped its way through. Within a week, his lower left tooth broke through as well. It wasn't much longer after that that Caleb's top right tooth finally showed itself. Here is Caleb with his big gummy smile, and if you look close, you can see the corner of his first top right tooth showing...
Within a week, his top left tooth broke through giving our little Caleb FOUR TEETH, all in his mouth by his 9 month old birthday.
I have to be honest and say that Blake and I were a little sad to say goodbye to Caleb's gummy smile. It has brought our hearts so much laughter and joy over these past months. Blake will often ask me..."What's your favorite thing about the Boo?" I almost always say his smile and his laugh. But at the same time, we are so thankful and rejoice to see each new season and milestone of Caleb's life. (After all, if his smile is anything like his Mommy's, it will still be a gummy smile anyways - just with teeth :)

Winter Storm 2011

WINTER STORM 2011
The Friday before the snow came in, our principal made an announcement to the students warning that we might have some winter weather. Well, for those of us who live in Gwinnett, we all know that Gwinnett is always the last county of schools to close. To my surprise, Sunday night, the 9th, the snow that was predicted arrived. By Monday morning, we had 7 inches of snow. School was cancelled and with the icy conditions that followed, we were out ALL WEEK!!! It was a wonderful week, a blessing from God. His plans are always perfect, and it gave me a week to be at home, to catch up on some rest, and to work on decorations for Drew and Mandy's upcoming baby shower. Blake was home with us too, so that made for a great family time. We played with Caleb, watched movies, and of course....
we played in the snow!!!
I am proud to say that I made my first ever SNOW ANGEL!!! Blake and I plopped down together in our back yard and made our angels right next to each other... can you tell which one is mine and which one is his?

I have to confess that making this snow angel gave me so much JOY! I laughed and squealed the whole time!

OUR HOME IN THE WINTER WONDERLAND

So, this was actually Caleb's second time seeing snow in his life. And, of course, he had to come out, even if it was for only 3 minutes. Here he is all stylish in his new firetruck tobogan and ski jacket... melt Mommy's heart.

We wanted to see how he would react to the snow, so Blake had the great idea of setting him on his snow skate.

At first, Caleb looked around at everything. Then, he started to swish his feet back and forth in the snow. He liked the sound it made. After a few minutes, he looked at us and started to whine... almost as if he was saying..."What's the big deal Mommy and Daddy?"

A White Christmas

Caleb's First Christmas was a white one...
It started snowing in Suwanee in the afternoon on Christmas Day. By that evening, we had snow on the ground. The next day, we had a beautiful covering of snow...Caleb's First Snow Day! So, of course we had to bundle our little man up and let him check out the snow. Blake helped him touch the snow... it wasn't very fun for him - touching something cold and wet.... I don't get it Mommy and Daddy!
