Caleb's First Birthday Cake

We thought it was so funny watching Caleb eat his cake. Caleb always plays rough and tough with his toys, hurling them from one side of the room to the other. It was funny that when it came to his cake, he would carefully take one bite of icing at a time. Blake had to smash his hand in the cake to show him how it's done.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO CALEB!

April Fun!

We have had a busy April in the Morris household... lots of celebrating! We have had birthdays: Uncle Micah's, Mommy's, Emily's, and Caleb's 1st Birthday, Spring Break, and Easter. Caleb turned ONE YEAR OLD April 16th, and we thank God for his precious life. This past Saturday, we celebrated with a party with our family. Since his party was during Easter weekend, we thought it was most appropriate to celebrate with an Easter theme party - bunnies and eggs. I thought it was so special that we were able to celebrate Caleb's one year of life the same weekend that we celebrate Jesus Christ - His life that He gave up for ALL - that we might have NEW life in Him. While bunnies and eggs are very cute, they are a reminder to me that God is the Creator and Giver of life.

Caleb's First Ear Infection

Caleb got his first ear infection this past weekend. Started out as a cold, but turned into an ear infection. Here he is taking one of his breathing treatments. We've had to do these before when he had an upper respiratory infection a month or so ago, so he is a pro at them. He likes for us to read to him during the treatments, so we read. We read the same books over and over again, so much that I have them memorized. "Who Love You Baby?" "Mirror Me" and "A Night Night Prayer" - his favorite ones lately.

Praise the Lord that Caleb is starting to feel better. We are so thankful to God for his health and protection.

Some More Firsts

GRITS!!! YES PLEASE!
This past Sunday morning, I was eating some grits before church. Caleb seemed interested, so I let him try a bite. He loved them!!! He liked them so much that I had to make another serving. YUMMY!

LIL BISCUIT FOR CALEB
Caleb likes these teething biscuits too! They are tasty and give him good practice at self-feeding. It has become a recent habit for us to practice self-feeding during Caleb's afternoon snack time. His favorite finger food right now is yogurt melts. He loves them! So, I put one in my hand or on his chair and let him pick it up and feed himself. Once he gets it in his mouth, I start clapping as hard as I can (and sometimes I even jump around :) and say "YEA!!!! Good job! Good job, Caleb!" Then, I say "Give me a high 5!" And I help him give me a high 5. Sometimes, he raises his hand for me. YEAH CALEB!

Cardboard Boxes for Caleb

Cardboard boxes and bubble wrap paper - Mom's Best Friend
We got some packages in the mail and for the next hour, Caleb played with the boxes and bubble wrap.... oh how fun!

WHERE'S CALEB?

THERE HE IS!

Basketball Time

Caleb loves his basketball goal! He can make baskets if he wants, but he's more interested in watching the scoreboard and listening to the sounds it makes when Mommy scores.
