A New Christmas Cookie Tradition

Mom and I have been talking for years now about baking and decorating cookies for Christmas. This year, we decided to make it happen - we started a new tradition. Caleb and I went over to Mom's 3 days before Christmas to bake sugar cookies and decorate them. Mom made the cookie dough the day before (so yummy) so that when we got there, we could focus on rolling out the dough, cutting out the cookies, baking them, and then decorating them. We found a recipe online for icing, and it ended up working out fantastic! We made candy canes, Christmas trees, stockings, and stars. They looked pretty good for a first time, and they tasted amazing!!! While we worked away, Caleb watched us from the kitchen floor. Next year, he will be able to help us and decorate some of his very own cookies.
